Wedding Bomboniere
The wedding bomboniere is a kind of wedding favor that is given as an appreciation and souvenir to the guests from the groom and bride during the wedding celebration.
The history of giving such tokens started very long ago. It was believed that the European aristocrats gave the very first wedding favor in a form of what they called as “bonbonniere”. This refers to a small box that was usually made up of precious stones, crystals, or porcelains. The most common content of this valuable box were sugar cubes or any delicate material that signifies royalty and wealth. As sugar became too common and affordable, almonds served as the replacement for bomboniere and lasted for centuries.
Today, the giving of wedding bomboniere is very popular to almost all weddings in the world. No matter what the culture is, this wedding favor is now a necessary part of ceremonies and celebrations.
Since everything changes, wedding bomboniere evolved as well. There are now thousands of designs that are being offered by your local wedding stores which you can choose from. They now come in different sizes, shapes, and styles. If you and your partner are creative enough, you two can even make your own designs. Most of the time, wedding favors are based from the wedding theme and personalities of the newly weds.
There are couples who are still following the traditional style of bomboniere because they still believe that it signifies the five wedding wishes: health, fertility, wealth, happiness, and long life. By giving it to all of their guests, the two of them are likely to have the said five wishes in their married life.
Still, no matter what type of bomboniere you choose, the most important thing is how grateful you are and how you appreciated all your guests who shared their time to witness the most important even of your life.
